Posting Procedures

Here are the procedures and guidelines for posting to the SDVC Announcement Board and Events Calendar.

  • The Announcement Board and the Events Calendar are two separate and unrelated lists. Posting to one, does not affect posting to the other.

Announcement Board

Used for virtually any topic related to San Diego veterans.

  • Post appear in chronological order based on the date posted (not the date of any material in the post)
  • There is not a limit to the number of posts, but abuse of the board will be reviewed
    • You may make multiple announcements about the same even. Often times a
      • Save the Date when you have the date confirmed
      • Buy tickets now when tickets go on sale
      • Special Event announcements like a new guest or speaker
      • Reminders as the date approach
      • and more
    • New Announcements need to be made if new announcements are desired in the newsletter or to appear on the board. Copying and pasting would lead to excessive announcements by all.
  • Posts are used as potential material for the SDVC Weekly newsletter. Typically only posts made since the last newsletter may appear in the upcoming newsletter
  • Announcements only appear on the board for 30 days and then disappear

 

Events Calendar

Must be events related to San Diego veterans

  • You only need to post once
  • You can reach out to the calendar admin to make adjustments to an event. This will typically need to be confirmed by a website posting
  • Creating an event will not create an Announcement
  • Events posted to the calendar are used as content for the SDVC Weekly newsletter. Typically a handful of events coming up within the next week are highlighted and other events farther out may be listed in a “Save the Date” section
  • Only events from the current month and forward appear on the calendar
